SculpSure Has Been Approved by the FDA for the Lower Body

SculpSure has rapidly grown in popularity as the first FDA-approved non-invasive laser treatment for fat reduction.  It has produced incredible results for patients wanting to reduce stubborn belly fat and love handles.  Patients love it because it is relatively painless and there is no downtime afterwards.  Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded clearance for Cynosure’s SculpSure so that patients can receive non-invasive body contouring on the back, inner and outer thighs.  Thanks to this approval from the FDA, patients are now able to permanently eliminate fat cells in problem areas and achieve the results they want without any downtime or surgery!

At D.C. Ranch Family Medicine, we are thrilled that a treatment both we and patients love, SculpSure, has gotten even better!  Now that we can treat more areas than ever before, patients can achieve the slimming results that they want.  Additionally, this approval from the FDA reinforces that SculpSure really is not only safe but the science behind it produces truly effective and amazing results.  Allure reported on the recent FDA approval and explained why this approval is important as well as how SculpSure will work to reduce fat in the lower body, “This approval is important because it means the technology behind the treatment is safe and effective, says Neil Sadick, New York City-based dermatologist and founder of Sadick Dermatology. So, how does SculpSure work? “It’s a laser fat technology that passes heat through the dermis to directly target fat cells,” explains Sadick. “The heat melts the fat, which is then absorbed into the body.” Basically, the treatment heats fat cells off, which are then naturally eliminated through the body. During the procedure, the laser, which elevates adipose tissue (the fancy science-y word for fat) temperature between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius, keeps the top of the skin’s surface cool while it detects the fat underneath, says Sadick. The full treatment takes about 25 minutes, and results can be seen within six (but can take up to 12) weeks following the procedure. One to two sessions are usually recommended for best results.”

SculpSure treatment takes a mere 25 minutes during which a laser light is targeted at the lower body problem area.  Because of the FDA approval for the lower body, patients that have struggled to get rid of stubborn fat on their inner, outer, and back thighs will now be able to be permanently rid of it!  In fact, CynoSure reports that patients see an average of 24% fat reduction in treated areas.  If you are interested in learning more about receiving SculpSure treatment on your lower body, abdomen, or love handles we encourage you to call D.C.
