If you burn yourself, causing a first degree burn, don’t put ice on it or soak your hand in ice water. Ice can restrict blood flow to the area, slowing the healing process or even cause frostbite. Instead, run cool water, not cold, over the burn or soak it in a wet towel. Keeping the wound clean will also help it heal quicker.
