Avoid These Habits That Are Bad for Your Skin

It is incredibly important to try and take care of your skin and keep it as healthy as possible. While many people associate good skincare with using natural and clean beauty products, face washes, and moisturizers, it actually goes a lot deeper than that. While using good products is the first step, here are a few bad habits you may have that are keeping you from having that gorgeous glow that everyone desires.

1. You Drink Too Much

While drinking on occasion or even a few times per week is not necessarily bad for you, having alcohol every single day is not a good idea. While it may be enjoyable in the moment, your skin will definitely suffer over time as heavy drinking can lead to sagging skin. Try to limit yourself to one or two days per week to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail or two and your skin will thank you.

2. Forgetting About the Neck and Chest

You may be applying safe and clean products to your face, but it is important to not forget about the neck and chest. These areas are often exposed and need to receive the same amount of protection and hydration as the rest of your body. When applying face creams and sunscreens, be sure to not miss these important areas.

3. Using Dirty Makeup Brushes

This one sounds like an obvious bad habit, but you would not believe how many people do not wash their makeup brushes on a regular basis. Brushes that are used to apply beauty products should be washed at least once every three weeks to avoid bacterial infections, breakouts, and clogged pores.

Getting rid of these bad habits and researching and finding quality products to use are the best ways to get that natural glow. You will not only see a visible difference on the outside, but you will feel so much better on the inside knowing you are taking the steps needed to achieve healthy skin.
